Haunt of Haworth | Jill Haworth Gallery

An attendee of the Corona Stage School, Jill Haworth started in film with two uncredited schoolgirl parts (THE 39 STEPS and BRIDES OF DRACULA). Discovered by the formidable Otto Preminger - who placed her under contract for five years - Haworth was also the original Sally Bowles in the Broadway run of Cabaret. Her career stalled due to several venomous reviews in the American press, the actress consequently relegated to some of the tawdriest entries in British horror. Often playing resentful characters that probably fitted personal feelings, viewers had to wait until Jack Cardiff's controversial THE MUTATIONS to see Jill give a more relaxed and rounded performance. Of her television work, Haworth is best remembered for the classic 1963 episode of THE OUTER LIMITS - THE SIXTH FINGER - where she played the girlfriend of David McCallum's victim of accelerated evolution.
